今日は夏の食べ物についてです。

Ｓｕｍｍｅｒ　Ｆｏｏｄ　Ｓｐｅｃｉａｌｉｔｉｅｓ

アメリカではこんなものが夏の食べ物として親しまれているそうです。

• Barbeque : Hot dogs, Steaks, Hambergers, Spare ribs, etc...

• Corn on the cob

　　　 (丸ごとのコーンです。コーンの一つひとつの粒は　Kernel と言うそうです。

• Watermelon

• Fried chicken

日本の食べ物はどんなふうに表現するのでしょう

• Shaved/crushed ice

• Cold buckwheat noodle

• Pickled vegetables such as eggplant cabbage cucumber

• Cold tohu with condiment

意味は調べてみてください。

便利な表現

お漬物を作るときに野菜の切り方で話題になりました

Finger length ; 大体指の長さ１本分。きゅうりを３等分に言いたかったときに。

今日のトピック；雨の表現

• drizzle : 小雨、弱い雨 
• downpour : 強い雨     
• cats and dogs : 激しい雨

Today's rain is (was) a downpour.   (　下線のところに表現が入ります　）

• pitter patter 
• splish splash

どちらも擬態語です。意味は何となく意味はわかりますね。

便利な表現

• Downpour と　uplift

雨の表現で出てきた '' Downpour '' は感情の表現にも使えます。

読んで字のごとく、下向き、転じて『ついてない』などの表現に使えます。

使い方は　My luck is bad. It feels like a downpour.

When it rains it pours. はよくないツキが続いたときに使えます。

反対後は　Uplift　です。

ちょっとおもしろい言葉：：：：'' loan words'' 日本語で『外来語』のことだそうです。

借りてきたことばということですね ^ ^)

11月18日 十日市場クラス

今回はマンツーマンの授業だったので、少しハイレベルになりました。
話題はこのブログを始めたところからブログをはじめ、インタネットやその他のコミュニケーションツール、セキュリティーの問題点など高度なものになりました。
理解度は80点くらい⁉️

Last Wednesday we discussed the Origen of blog and what is the purpose of them. I believe it is a necessary tool to improve ones confidence in both writing and communicating in English. 

We also did pronunciation also. It was quite a fun time , I hope next week can be so enjoyable.

ここにある発音の練習ですが、tr、pr、gr…などなかなか日本語には現れない発音です。

次回ものに楽しみです。

11月18日キッズ英会話

今日は新しいお友達が増えてみんな元気いっぱいです。

以下はルイス先生より本日のサマリーです。

Today we worked on pronunciation　and self- introduction.
 We made a simple statement of your name and interest. 
After that we did a short skit.Skits are good because
 they allow you to concentrate on a subject and express it out loud. 
It was fun to do. I know that acting is great. 
So I hope one of our kids can become an actor one day.

Today our purpose was to write good sentences. We wrote about the different parts of speech. Then we wrote about Autumn and then the colors.Finally we wrote about volcanos.
we had a presentation of all of the essays. It was fun and interesting. 
I enjoyed listen to the kids presentations and their ability for impromptu speaking .

今日の練習は文章を書くということです。
まず始めにスピーチの構成について勉強し、実際に秋と色について短い作文をしました。
最後には火山についてエッセイを書いてみました。
子供たちは書いたことに基づいて発表を行いました。とても楽しい発表会になりました。
私は子どもたちが発表をしたり、アドリブで言葉を加えたりするのとても楽しく聞きました。

Halloween party

あざみ野の子どもクラスで10月30日(金)に

Halloween partyをしました。

特殊メイクが得意なお母さんのおかげで子どもたちは

Monsterに変身です。

本気で怖かったです。

クラスではhalloween craftをしてそれを元にお話を作り、

英語で発表しました。

授業のあとはお菓子パーティーです♪
