9. Did you get any souvenirs or Knick knacks?
( souvenirs-おみやげ Knick knacks -小物)
10. How was the food ?

These are some questions you ask but the key point
is framing the question.
How you say a question can lead to many interesting
Conversaciones
For example:
Jill: How was your trip?
Joan: it was awesome
Jill: Was the weather good?
Joan: it was great, there was a storm
But it was on the first day?

Hello, do you know about April fools?
April fools Day is a day in which people play pranks on each other. I think the most memorably April Fools prank was when on the radio Orson Wells did a parody of the Story “War of the Worlds”. This caused a shock through the country; many people were panicked by the news and caused by the radio story. Later that evening there was an apology from the radio station saying that it was just a “hoax”.

This is an introduction to Saint Patrick’s Day
Saint Patrick's Day was made an official Christian feast day in the early 17th century and is observed by the Catholic Church, the Anglican Communion (especially the Church of Ireland),[4] the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Lutheran Church. The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland,[3] and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.[5] Celebrations generally involve public parades and festivals, cèilidhs, and the wearing of green attire or shamrocks.[6] Christians who belong to liturgical denominations also attend church services[5][7] and historically the Lenten restrictions on eating and drinking alcohol were lifted for the day, which has encouraged and propagated the holiday's tradition of alcohol consumption.[5][6][8][9]
Saint Patrick's Day is a public holiday in the Republic of Ireland,[10] Northern Ireland,[11] the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador (for provincial government employees), and the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat. It is also widely celebrated by the Irish diaspora around the world, especially in the United Kingdom, Canada, United States, Brazil, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand. Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated in more countries than any other national festival.[12] Modern celebrations have been greatly influenced by those of the Irish diaspora, particularly those that developed in North America. In recent years, there has been criticism of Saint Patrick's Day celebrations for having become too commercialised and for fostering negative stereotypes of the Irish people.
This is from Wikipedia I hope it helps.
Let’s discuss about using synonyms. Synonyms are words that have the same meaning for example:

Good evening
We just had a festival that came up. It’s the doll festival. I wanted to tell you that these customs are no longer followed in the west. But there are other occasions such as a debutante. This is the first time a young lady goes out on the town. It’s the first time she is seen outside without an escort. This is the reason “Cinderella” wants to go to the ball so she can meet a suiter that she can one day marry.
Well let’s continue the story from last month
Joan : excuse me what’s your name?
Miguel: it’s Miguel
Jill: are you from a Spanish speaking country?
Miguel: well no but my parents were. So they gave me this name so I don’t forget my heritage.
Joan: how about the girl you were with..,
Miguel: she is my little sister
Jill: she is quite beautiful
Miguel: i guess so. She made her debut at the local community center in a play.
Joan: she is an actress?
Miguel: she says she wants to be.
Jill: I see. By the way the food is cold.
Miguel: my apologies , it’s on the House.

Hello, Hello
Today we will discuss on the expression we did on Wednesday.
Out of the blue — by chance 偶然に
ie.
She decided to buy a lottery ticket out of the blue and she won ten thousand dollars.
So every day things happen just by coincidence.
Another expression is “a fly in the soup” this means a difficulty that arises.
Fly in the soup —- 困難な
Fly in the ointment
We were planing on going to Europe this summer but there is a “fly in the soup” I might have to go on business on the same date .
Other words for cream are ointment or rubbing gel-なる薬
The word revenge is usually used to mean attack someone who attacked us (復讐)
But sometimes it means another chance to face the same opponent or situation
The basketball team we lost in the scrimmage game will be our opponent it’s a chance at revenge.
Sometimes we think of these moments as rivalries or feuds (誓い)
So we must overcome our rivals with courage and brains.
See you next time

Waku Waku one point lesson
To play with a “ken dama” is to use suppleness to get the ball into the cup.
Suppleness- しなやか
When you use chopsticks they need to be supple.
Another word you can use is lithe.
The fashion model walks lithely across the stage.
Lithe -柔軟
So when we play sports and play traditional games our minds will also become more flexible.
Now we have our pending episode of Jill and Joan

Valentines Day
This is a day in which people who have love interest and come together and share their love for each other. This tradition comes from the saint “Valentin” who was impodoned because he was in love with a noble woman. He was sent to prison. He was a christian, so he prayed in his cell so that he could meet the woman he loved. In the end he died in his cell. Still hoping to see his love . Or so they say. We celebrate that day to remember the sacrifice he made for her.
We return to Jill and Joan and their dinner plans
Jill: so could you make a reservation?
Joan: yes but could you believe it took me the whole day.
Jill: How come?
Joan: well you know it is Valentines Day.
Jill: Yeah!!
Joan: Yes it is. I found a place near bay.
Jill: I hope there is a nice bar. So we can meet people.
Joan: yes there is a single bar nearby.
Jill: Great!
The adventure continues. Please remember that Vantines Day is not a day to give chocolate but it’s for couples to share their love for each other. So I hope next week you find your special someone.

Hello, How are you?
When you meet someone for the first time this greeting is quite common, here are some others you can use:
How is it going?
Where have you been?
What’s going on?
The above question are a cause for someone to give a long story explaining their situation.
Note
Always feel free to interrupt if you can not follow or that you want to ask for more details. You can use these questions for example:
Could you please slow down?
Can you repeat that?
I am sorry I can’t follow you.
If you want to ask follow up questions for example :
How long did you stay?
Could I do that to?
Was it difficult to arrange?
These are the types of question you can ask to further the conversation and enjoy the company of the person. See you next week.
